This acrylic painting portrays a Barn Owl that resides at The World Bird Sanctuary in Saint Louis, Missouri. The real owl's name is Goblin, named after the Goblin King in the Labyrinth. Goblin was hatched at the World Bird Sanctuary February 28, 2008. At a very young age he has captured the hearts of young and old alike. He is trained to participate in their educational programs, where he acts as a “spokes-bird” for his species. Adopt a barn owl here: https://www.worldbirdsanctuary.org/product/barn-owl/

This owl has a golden crown, which I emphasized with gold metallic paint accents on his feathers and throughout the background. Hence the title of the peice.

Sandra Lowe, a great photographer and volunteer at the Sanctuary, took an amazing photo of Goblin, which inspired this painting.
